Elisa’s mission is a sustainable future through digitalisation. Sustainability has been part of our strategy for more than 15 years. Our long-term sustainability work is also reflected in international assessments. Elisa is now world’s 66th most sustainable company on the Time Magazine and Statista World's Most Sustainable Companies ranking. Elisa ranked among the 100 most sustainable companies in the world also on the Corporate Knights Global 100 list.

Environmental sustainability

Mitigating climate change and reducing carbon emissions have been part of our strategy since 2009

We were among the first organisations in Finland to set a science-based Zero Emissions 2040 climate target.
We have improved the energy efficiency of our mobile network by 73% since 2016.
We work with our customers to promote climate innovation and resource efficiency.

Digital sustainability

Safeguarding digital environments and people’s privacy is at the core of our operations

We are a major player in securing Finland’s national security of supply and cyber security.
Ensuring reliable connectivity: up to 99% of disturbances in our network are proactively repaired.
We bring digital skills to Finns: more than 2,000 children have already attended Elisa's digital schools.

Social sustainability

Every day, we work to build a safe and fair digital society, so that people's equal rights are respected

Ensuring fast connections for all Finns, our 5G network already covers 92% of the population in Finland.
We have been included in the Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index, which evaluates companies’ diversity and equality policies.
The Shed Foundation, which Elisa established, supports diverse and child-friendly youth work.

Economic sustainability

Investing in building a digital society and promoting sustainable value creation

We invest in innovation: we are one of the largest patent applicants in Finland.
We are the largest operator-investor in Finland, with annual investments of more than EUR 200 million a year in telecoms infrastructure.
As a Finnish company, we are one of the largest corporate taxpayers in the country.
