We promote equity and inclusion

Diversity, equity and inclusion are important to us in in terms of both our personnel and customer interaction. We operate internationally, and already more than 25% of Elisa employees work in over 20 countries outside Finland.

Elisa is committed to UN Global Compact and has signed the UN Women’s Empowerment Principles offering guidance to business on how to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment in the workplace, marketplace and community, and supporting companies in planning their equality policies.

Equity at work

We want to be an attractive and interesting workplace where our personnel have the opportunity to learn, develop and experiment in a safe and equal environment.

We measure the implementation of non-discrimination and equality annually as part of our employee satisfaction survey. More than 93% of Elisa employees say there is no non-discrimination at Elisa. Trust in managers and operating according to our values are seen as strengths of Elisa.

Equal recruitment

We want to create a work environment where no one is discriminated against or treated unfairly based on their gender, race, age, religion, language or nationality.

Our job titles are gender-neutral. Already in 2018, we excluded questions about age and gender from our recruitment process, and we always interview people of more than one gender  to ensure that applicants are treated equally.

Best practices together

We are a member of the Iklusiiv, a community promoting diversity and inclusion. Founded in 2019, Iklusiiv has a mission to make information on diversity and inclusion accessible to all, and to support organisations in turning it into action.

Elisa's mission is a sustainable future through digitalisation. Our starting point for social responsibility is to promote equality. This way, we are also contributing to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

More women in the industry

We participate in lowering the threshold for working in cyber security positions and joined the Women4Cyber Finland . Strengthening women's cybersecurity competencies is a great way to advance our mission, a sustainable future through digitalisation!

Supporting Helsinki Pride

It is especially important for us to provide our employees with a safe space to be exactly what they are. We want to promote the well-being and cohesion of our employees every day.

Together with other operators, we have been involved in supporting  Helsinki Pride for years.
